FAQS

What I'm Asked Most Often

I share systems and processes that have worked for me and my business partner, Connor Gillivan, as we've scaled our portfolio of companies. Think of growth strategies (SEO tactics, advertising tips, personal branding advice, etc.), scaling advice (how to delegate past yourself, hiring best practices, building a remote company culture where people want to stay for the long term), and psychological insights (how to manage the highs and lows, when's the right time for an exit, revenue vs profits, how to manage your time, etc.).

It's a loaded question. Every Founder wants to exit their business at some point, right? My business partner, Connor, and I had grown our company, FreeUp, from an initial $5,000 investment to $12M ARR and we exited in 2019. It took us close to 1 year to go through the full exit process and it required a lot of our time and energy. If you've built a profitable business and you're serious about exiting, I recommend interviewing business brokers to get assistance in the process. They'll walk you through the full A to Z exit process, help you put together a business listing, and start to shop it around to potential buyers. From there, you can start to meet potential buyers and launch into the sale process. Just remember to be patient, selective, and calculated. Don't sell to the first person that shows interest and make sure it's what you really want for you and your business.
